How this calculator works

Venus's geocentric ecliptic longitude is computed with Astronomy Engine. Without a birth time, the calculator checks your whole birth date in your local time zone and finds any sign change to within a minute.

To see Venus in the context of the other planets and the houses, use the birth chart calculator.

Questions

How long does Venus stay in one sign?
Usually four to five weeks. Venus turns retrograde about every 19 months, and around those periods it can stay in one sign for up to about four months, so many people born in the same season share a Venus sign.
Do I need my birth time for my Venus sign?
Almost never. Venus moves a little over one degree a day at most, so it changes sign on only a handful of days each year. If your birth date is one of them, this calculator shows the local time of the change and the sign on each side.
Where can I compare my Venus sign with a partner's?
The synastry calculator on this site places two charts side by side and lists the aspects between them, including Venus to the other person's planets.
Is my birth data saved anywhere?
No. The sign is computed by JavaScript in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. The page link keeps your date and place so you can come back to the result, so share that link only with people you would tell your birthday to.
